Although I loved being away, visiting new cities, seeing lovely people, looking at buildings and spectacular scenery, I do love being home again. I've had a few opportunities to get into the glass studio. Today the sun shone and my unheated room was very comfortable. Until the sun went down and the temperature plummeted. I was very happy to come in to the house for dinner at 7.30 and will enjoy a hot shower later to fully warm up. Above, then, is the first of three days of effort. I'm already working on some jewellery, ready for local markets this month and next .
Decided today to forget about painting the walls till everything else is ready. I need to make beads for the Christmas in July Market at the Q (theatre) here in Queanbeyan, on the 24th July. I spent a day vacuuming and cleaning last week so all I had to do today was wash my glass rods and light up the torch. It feels so good to be back in production. Lots of outstanding orders and heaps of pearls and stones, silver and crystals to mix with my beads for showy necklaces, earrings and thing-things. It is nice to string a motley collection of glass beads together to fiddle with.
I have always been obsessed with creation and colour. These days I play with glass and fabric as much of the time as I can. The rest is taken up with a little paid architectural work, family and playing with our two cats.
